The churchyard is seen from ground level, close to the vegetation growing between the graves. The pale stone cross right of centre is the one form separated fully from its ground; from it, the darker headstones and the church wall behind resolve gradually, with a pointed window to the left and an arched portal to the right. Tonal range is compressed toward the dark register, and the surrounding stones retain shape but little internal detail. Granular pigment texture is visible across the whole print surface. The print was accepted for and shown at the Second International Photographic Salon in Stockholm, 19–31 October 1928. It was subsequently hung at Fredriksstad Foto-Klub’s 3rd National Exhibition of Pictorial Photography, 1929.
